This Canadian mortgage calculator is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that creates an amortization schedule for a fixed-rate Canadian mortgage loan, with optional extra payments. The outstanding balance and total interest at the end of a specified term is calculated, along with the total interest savings for the chosen prepayment schedule. The compound period for a Canadian mortgage is semi-annual, but this calculator also gives the option of specifying an annual, semi-annual, or monthly compound period.
